Eytheril was my final project for Stanford's CS248 Interactive Computer Graphics course. I worked with fellow CCRMA student Hongchan Choi to create this abstract and otherworldly experience. The gameplay is very simple: you are a moving ball of light attempting to collect more energy without hitting the cavern walls. You control your computer remotely through a mobile device and use it's gyrometer and few on screen controls to fly.

While the design was important to us, we spent most of our time just getting the technical components up and running. This intensive course gave very little time for the final project and did not allow the use any existing game engines. We had to code the 3D renderer, lighting, shader effects, particle systems, physical simulations, and the generative sound design from scratch. Our project was a finalist in the class-wide competition.
